Monday, May 5 – Teacher Appreciation Week!  J J J

Spelling:  Definition Test on Thursday, May 8

                   Spelling Test on Friday, May 9

                   Completed Spelling Book due on May 9

English:  We will finish the presentations of our “How to” papers

                Final writing assignment due on May 9.     

Literature:  We continue to read The Cay.  45 AR points or equivalent book

                    reports due by May 15.

Religion Bee:  May 7 and 8

 

Tuesday, May 6 – Audrey Franz’s nephew, Jack, will be visiting the class

                               with his One Man Act between 8:00-9:00 a.m.

Spelling:  In-class spelling game.

English:  We will spend the rest of the week in the computer lab working on

                 our final creative writing assignment.

Literature:  The Cay.   READ, READ, READ!

Religion:  Religion Bee tomorrow.

 

Wednesday, May 7 – Religion Bee:  Study guides were sent home a month

                                        ago.  We did them together in class.   &   V

Spelling:  Definition test tomorrow.

English:  Continue to work on final writing assignment.

Literature:  The Cay

Reading:  45 AR points due by May 15.

 

Thursday, May 8 – Second day of Religion Bee if needed.

Spelling:  Spelling Test tomorrow.  Spelling book is also due.

English:  Final Creative Writing assignment is due tomorrow.

Literature:  The Cay

Reading:  Just 7 days until your 45 points are due.

 

Friday, May 9 – 1:30 dismissal.  2nd Grade May Crowning Mass.  Bring

                            flowers for the Blessed Virgin Mary!   We are also

                            collecting items for abused and neglected children in

                            Seguin.  I sent home a list of needed items last week.

 

Have a wonderful weekend!  To walk with God, we must make it a practice to talk with God.

 

Monday, May 12 – Mrs. Jean Fisher will be substituting for me today. J

English:  Share creative stories.

Literature:  Finish The Cay, I hope.

Reading:  The students will be given 20-25 minutes during Language Arts

                  to read and catch up on missing points.

 

Tuesday, May 13

English:  Share creative stories

                 Begin Unit 6 – Pronouns; Assignment: pg.  307, 1-10

Reading:  Read for 20 minutes towards AR points

 

Wednesday, May 14 – Athletic Banquet at 6:00 p.m.

English:  Share Creative Writing stories

                  Subject and Object Pronouns:  Assignment: pg. 308, 1-10

Reading:  Read for 20 minutes towards AR points.

 

Thursday, May 15

English:  Impromptu speaking begins, if all the creative stories have been

                 presented.

                 Possessive Pronouns:  Assignment: pg. 309, 1-10.  Test over

                 Pronouns on Tuesday, May 27.

Reading:  45 AR points are due by the end of the day.

 

Friday, May 16 – PTC Meeting and Talent Show.

English:  Impromptu Speaking

                 Pronouns After Linking Verbs: pg. 310, 1-13

Reading:  Begin another book on tape: The Other Side of the Mountain 

 

Monday, May 19 – Schlitterbahn.  We will be leaving at 8:30 and returning at

                                5:00.   Parents invited!   J

Friday, May 23 – Special Mass for Mrs. Jessen

Impromptu speaking if there is time.

 

Saturday, May 24 – A farewell mass and reception for Mrs. Jessen, our

                                  principal for 16 years.  Please attend this special

                                  celebration to show your love and appreciation for this

                                  phenomenal woman.

 

Monday, May 26 – No school

 

Tuesday, May 27 – English Test

 

Wednesday, May 28 – Start turning in books.

 

Thursday, May 29 – Clean out lockers

 

Friday, May 30 – Last day of school.  HOORAY!  J  J  J  J  J
